"Fearless: A Photography Project on Openly
Gay High School and Collegiate Athletes" will be on display near the
registration table on the 3rd Floor of the MIT Student Center. A preview of Jeff's work will be at Boston City Hall on Friday from
6pm to 8pm at the networking event.
For the last 6 months Jeff has been traveling
across the United States, photographing and interviewing openly gay
and lesbian high school and collegiate athletes, exploring and
examining the intersections between sexuality and athleticism. In
the execution of the portraits for his project, he has taken the
images immediately after an intense practice or work out, exploiting
the post-coital nature of these moments. Ultimately in a few years,
he hopes to put together in a publication these images along with
the stories and lives of these athletes.
If you have any questions or comments, or know
of or are an openly gay high school or collegiate athlete and would
be interested in being in the project, please contact him directly
at jeffsheng@jeffsheng.com.
