The Mission of Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in

About NEU SIS' Project TEAMWORK
The Mission of Project TEAMWORK to raise the awareness of young people around
the issues of inequality and discrimination, teach practical conflict
resolution skills, and empower them to make positive changes in society.
Founded in 1990 and funded with a grant from Reebok, Project TEAMWORK has
worked with over 160,000 young people making positive changes in their lives.
In 1993 Project TEAMWORK was honored with the Peter F. Drucker Award as the
most innovative non-profit program in the social sector and in 1995, then
President Clinton recognized PTW as a model violence prevention program.
Project TEAMWORK began as a diversity program made up of former professional
athletes.
